A Brief History

Nestled in the center of Barnard, The Lakeshore House was home to a village store operated by Lewis S. French from 1857 to 1897. The town clerk's office and the Barnard post office have also been located in this building. In the 1950's the building was home to the Silver Lake Inn and more recently a private residence. Completely renovated and restored the Lakeshore House stands as a tribute to the days of old and a beacon for those looking for a relaxing, peaceful getaway.
